SALIM MANSUR, Professor of Political Science at University of Western Ontario, Toronto Sun columnist, and author of the new book "Islam's Predicament", will talk about the need to confront bigotry and extremism, and explore the issue of racism on campus.

 

Marina Nemat

MARINA NEMAT, author of the best selling novel "Prisoner of Tehran ... a Memoir", speaks of her personal experience with religious fanaticism — imprisonment and torture at the age of sixteen, for protesting the Islamic Revolution.

Tawfik Hamid

TAWFIK HAMID, Prominent Islamic intellectual and reformer, Dr. Tawfik Hamid is Senior Fellow And Chair for the Study of Islamic Radicalism at the Potomac Institute for Policy Studies in Washington, DC.
Dr. Hamid, born in Egypt, was a medical student in Cairo when he was persuaded to join the jihadist movement. Now a leading authority on the mindset of the jihadi, he is frequently interviewed on CNN, Fox News, and published in international media. He has been guest speaker to the US Congress, European Parliament, and many international security and counter-terrorism organizations.

Dr. Hamid is the author of "Inside Jihad: Understanding and Confronting Radical Islam"

Moderator: Jonathan Kay, Managing Editor for Comment of the National Post newspaper. An award-winning journalist, his articles have appeared recently in Commentary Magazine, The New York Post, Newsweek and Readers Digest. His forthcoming book, "Among the Truthers: Alternative Theories of 9/11 and The people Who Believe Them", will be published in 2010 by HarperCollins.
