HOLOCAUST EDUCATION WEEK, THE SPEAKERS ACTION GROUP, AND MINDEN GROSS LLP, PRESENT:
THE PSYCHOLOGY OF HATE PROPAGANDA
Esther Bem survived the Holocaust, after escaping as a young child from Nazi-held Zagreb with her parents. Fleeing to a tiny Italian village, poor farmers took the family in, and with the help of a local priest, they managed to hide from the terror of the Eichmann regime. At the age of 13, the only Italian speaker in her family, Esther hid all of their identities, and today speaks about their struggle, and the hope of human kindness.
Dino Doria, Professor, Guelph Humber University, and retired Sergeant, Toronto Police Intelligence Services, Hate Crimes Unit. Professor Doria is an international guest lecturer on extremism and terrorism, and has been an expert witness in criminal trials involving the psychology of hate-motivated crimes. He will address the psychology of hate that created the climate for Nazi ideology during the Holocaust.
